Mitchell's Steakhouse is robust and indulgent
With three Columbus-area locations, Mitchell's Steakhouse is the quintessential American steakhouse. From the indulgent atmosphere to the almost-sinful cuts of prime beef steak, there is nothing modest about Mitchell's. The aged meats and more than 200 varieties of imported domestic and imported wines mean that Mitchell's is nothing short of extravagant-- the kind of place you go to eat when you want to sit back, relax, and unwind from the stresses and trials of the day. Of course, if you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary or engagement, Mitchell's is perfect for that, too.
The pepper-pot calamari with jalapeno, cherries and pepperoncini peppers makes for a spicy beginning to your Mitchell's experience, tantalizing each taste bud with distinct heat and a touch of sweetness. The beef Carpaccio with garlic-herb crostini is another robust choice that will leave you anxiously awaiting the arrival of your perfectly-cooked steak dinner.
Only the finest cuts of steak fit the bill at Mitchell's-- filet mignon, New York Strip, Ribeye, and Porterhouse. Braised short ribs and rack of lamb also make the Mitchell's cut.
The filet is sliced thick-- three inches, to be exact, topped off with a pat of herb butter that melts delightfully over the top and sides of the meaty masterpiece. Each bite of this tender steak practically melts in your mouth.
If seafood is your vice, try the surf and turf, which pairs a tender filet alongside a Maine lobster tail served with drawn butter. It's truly the best of both worlds.
Shrimp scampi with garlic and Vin Blanc, roasted chicken with lemon Pan Jus, and Chilean Sea Bass with champagne cream also make delicious menu appearances.
Side choices include garlic and jalapeno mashers, green beans with walnut brown butter, hand-cut French fries and forest mushrooms in butter, among other traditional favorites like asparagus, broccoli and baked potatoes with sea salt crust.
Reservations are always accepted and are generally advised. Dress is business casual.
