Cypress Christian School Reviews

I've had children at this school since 2003 and so far we have had an excellent experience, from the elementary side of it, we have not reached the middle school side yet so K-5 is all I feel I can offer. I personally have never seen the favortisim that is spoken of we didn't belong to the church when we started and everyone made us feel welcome even coming into the school during the middle of school year. They have prepared my child very well academically and my child is in the top 10 percent when SAT scores came back, so I have no complaints. As we enter the middle school years I pray that I can say the same after reading the reviews of past parents. I do know the new Pricipal for the 09-10 school year and believe that he is going to bring the positive change at CCS!

I want to say this with as much kindness as possible and still be real. Unfortunately, my child's experience at Cypress was not a good one during middle school. I agree with the other parent who said that favoritism is a problem once your child enters middle school. Our experience was that the cliques were encouraged by the lack of concern of some staff members. If your child is a 'sports star' then they will probably be allowed to make up their own code of behavior with little consideration for the feelings of others. The culture of Cypress has become very PC to the point of lunacy. With the departure of yet another administrator this year (and might I add, an excellent administrator) I could never feel comfortable sending my child here or recommending the school, unless there are some major changes from the top down.

I believe the elementary education is phenominal. You can't go wrong in the younger grades. At this point you do not yet see favoritism. As the children grow and enter the middle school, this is where I have witnessed many problems. There are several incapable teachers. They prefer reading a book at their desk versus teaching our children or socializing with other teachers. They do not take into consideraton the feelings and wishes of the parents either. Unless you are in a certain group. To be in this special group you are required to have money or be a member of Cypress Christian Church. In the past five years, there have been four different principals. Does this tell you anything?

I think that Cypress has great things to offer students and I can say as a former student Cypress gives students a good head start for High School in the academic perspective. I spent 10 years at Cypress and I think that the Staff prepared my well by keeping my Spirituallity and my devotion the Lord a top priority and eventhough now I am in a public High School I have the confidence to talk about God because some of my former Cypress teachers taught me that I should go out into the world and preach of the Good News that the Lord has for us! Thank you

Cypress Christian has provided an atmosphere of loving kindness combined with great discipline and academic achievements. This is still a young school but the growth of this school to a K-8 program and its commitment to expansion makes it an exciting place to be. The faculty I believe is the best one could imagine. The greatest compliment I can give about the staff is the example of our first grade teacher whom my daughter thought that she was here favorite student. I also found out that all the rest of the children thought the exact same thing. I beleive this is called teaching with love.
