“Monroe teachers hold the kids to a higher level of responsibility than do most of the high schools that I'm familiar with. I believe their higher grading structure prepares the kids for the rigourous requirements of college prep courses in high school.”

“Monroe Middle School is an outstanding school. The school has many wonderful programs to offer students. The school is very structured, and orderly. Students are required to wear uniforms to school each day. Students are taught by high qualified, caring teachers. The teachers for the most part are some of the best in Columbus. The administrators are very visible and accessible by email, phone, face to face, and cell phone. Monroe MS has improved it rating on the Ohio State Report Card to 'effective'. The school also has maintained a positive 'value added' rating for the past two years. I would urge parents and any other interested families to visit the school. I know that you will be pleased.”

“Monroe is a great school. I understand that the children are unruly and what not but that isn't the schools fault. The school has amazing test scores and curriculum and they allow the students to express who they are. I know this as an experience, because my daughter attends this school at the moment. She has been in this school for two years and as she puts it 'it rocksm' Monroe is an excellent school to attend”

“The discipline in this school is horrible they show favoritism in this school and I would not recommend this school to anyone let alone any columbus city school. Your tax dollars are not going to far are they”

“My youngest daughter attended from 1999-2001. Upon graduation I was very much impressed with Monroe Alternative Middle. The principal was hands on and the faculty and staff were also very supportive towards the students. This year 2005, my son will begin attendance at Monroe, and I am very excited by this. However things have changed staffwise. There is a new principal and I would imagine other new employees as well. Still Monroe maintains that imagine and reputation of requiring excellence and accepting only the best from and of their students.”

“Monroe is one of the very best middle schools Columbus Public Schools have! We send are child across town so that she can go to a good school where she is able to do at grade level work and take advanced classes. Most middle schools are 1 to 2 years behind their grade level. Monroe also has an excellent band and instrumental program. Monroe students participate in math works, spelling bee, science fair and reading contests etc. Children that have been identified as gifted get to enjoy alot of educational field trips to Columbus State, Museums etc. The principal and staff are wonderful!”
