Middle School South Middle Reviews

This school needs help. It only cares about test scores, thats why the students can't pass, they spend all their time taking tests and not learning.

I attend middle school south and that was the biggest mistake of my life.Groveport middle school south lacks disipline from its staff that should be directed to the misbehaved students.

I have 3 children who are attending Groveport Schools. When we moved here (which was a mistake) I had heard that the schools were pretty behind the school we left. That doesn't put my mind at ease. I have an ALL A honor student and she hates it there! She isn't being challenged and she isn't learning anything new. The schools are really dirty and are falling apart. The teachers there do not seem too concerned with the students like they should be. They push the children aside that have ADHD, and they let them slip through the cracks. I would not recommend any of the GROVEPORT schools to anyone.

If your child has any kind of learning problem, this is not the school for them. They gravitate toward the smart kids and all others are left to fend on their own. There is no 'extra help' such as tutoring for kids who need it unless it has to do with the 'big test' in the spring. Teachers are their to make sure they learn, not to pass them over. There are no whole school lessons on how to treat others. Children are not being taught how to respect themselves or their peers. How can we expect them to learn without that? Assigned seating at lunch and no physical activity contribute to not such a great learning environment. If you have the means, send your child somewhere else.

As a teacher at Groveport Madison Middle School South, I like it! We love kids and think of them first when we, as educators, make decisions. We could always use parent volunteers and in the past few years, this has increased! Yea! come visit us!.

As a parent of a middle schooler, and a past school secretary, Groveport Madison Middle School South has many obstacles and challenges in its path! First, the positives: Most of the teachers are wonderful with a deep concern for the students. The teaching staff do their best to help each student and make learning a fun and positive experience. They are knowledgeable and very capable teachers. Now for the negatives: The principal, the physical facility, the administrative office (superintendent), very little community support, the lack of money, the decay of the school district, the lack of parental support, problems with bussing, a school board that quarrels, and the list goes on and on. No room for details, but I'm sure you see the point. GMMSS has it's uphill battles and I don't see it reaching the top for awhile.

Quality of academic programs- poor Availability of music- poor level of parnet involvement- poor

So far, I think the teachers are great. They seem to really care about the students.

My son attended GMSS for his 5th and 6th year. I believe the school is provides a very good learing enviroment. The principal and staff are pro student, and they are dedicated to working on the child's needs; whether it be mental, physical, or emotional. I believe the school system in Groveport is in grave danger, do to the influx of people moving into this area. I dont believe that this will be a postitive move for the system, nor for the classroom.

As a parent in the Groveport Madison School District, I had 2 children go through Middle School South. This was a very educational experience. The teachers and staff were very attentive to my children. Overall, my experience with Middle School South was excellent.

As a parent of a child in Groveport Middle that has a learning problem. I would Strongly suggest that anyone with any issues find another school. They want our children to be robots not children. After finding this site i will surly find other placement for my child. I thought all this time that it was just me, now I feel so relived to know that my child may have a chance with other placement. So please if you move to the district with a child with needs please find other placement for your child.

As a parent of 3 children attending Groveport Madison schools, the oldest being the 12th yr I think this year would top as being the worst yet. My middle school child doesn't even have a locker that works and it's one week into the school yr. The GMMS principal is very intimidating to these children. I would not recommend moving here to the district.

This school isn't good at all. The teachers doesn't listen to the the childen at all. That's why the child aren't doing any good. Some of the kids taking drugs and taking them to schools. I do not like this school and you may not too.

If your child is an average child they may do alright in a Groveport school but if your child has a learning disability do not waste your time moving into this school district as you will only become frustrated with how you and your child are being treated.
