Columbus has one of the hottest art scenes in the Midwest, with its center located in the Short North Arts District just north of downtown. Apart from the dozens of galleries that line the surrounding streets, the district also hosts the gallery hop once a month, where each gallery opens its doors along with restaurants and bars often holding special hours and deals. Not far north, the Wexner Center on the campus of The Ohio State University has a variety of modern art exhibitions from around the globe. The Columbus Metropolitan Museum of Art is a highly praised, longtime, institution with frequently rotating exhibitions from some of the world’s most renowned artists. On the literary scene, the Thurber House has become what many believe the center of American Literary Humor.
